Christmas Tips!

With the festive season in full swing, here are a few things to bear in mind for our Canine friends:

  1. Grapes, sultanas, raisins and currants are all poisonous to dogs, so keep the Christmas cake, puddings and mince pies out of reach!
  2. Chocolate and Macadamia nuts are also poisonous to dogs. So don’t forget about those presents under the tree and tree decorations that contain chocolate. And it’s best not to feed dogs any sort of nuts.
  3. Don’t give your dogs, or leave out, turkey carcass bones. Cooked bones are very brittle and can splinter and become very harmful if ingested. Put them in the bin straight away.
  4. There is a lot more alcohol around at Christmas time, in the food we’re preparing, in chocolates under the tree, and in glasses. Dogs can experience the same unpleasant side effects as we do if they consume alcohol, so keep it out there reach. And be aware of their long tails knocking drinks over.

Tips were great. Wanna try this next Christmas, ohh way too far :( Anyway, I do believe that one of the important keys to a successful Dog Training is making yourself the pack leader. Establish first your role as a leader and everything will be easy. Best of luck! :)
